INSTP Participates in ISTIC-MTDC Workshop in Kuala Lumpur
The workshop titled: “Technopreneurship for Women in Science, Technology and Innovation” was held on 9 – 12 July, 2018 in support of Malaysia’s year for women empowerment 2018. INSTP Participates in ISTIC-MTDC Workshop in Kuala Lumpur

The event was organized in collaboration with the Malaysian Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, the Ministry of Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change and Environment, International Science, Technology, and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation under the auspices of UNESCO (ISTIC), Institute Sosial Malaysia (ISM), NAM Institute for the Empowerment of Women (NIEW), and the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC).

Alongside the 15 participants from Malaysia, 14 women entrepreneurs and technology researchers from universities and research institutes from 10 countries have attended the workshop. These countries included: Iran, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Maldives, Sudan, Nigeria, Senegal, and Zimbabwe.

The Workshop was designed to provide a basic understanding of Technopreneurship, especially in the identification of opportunity and to help with understanding the initial creation of a business venture. It also aimed to provide basic understanding to researchers on how to write a good business plan. It was designed to provide real-world, hands-on, immersive learning about what it takes to successfully transfer knowledge into products and processes that benefit society.
